{"id":13096,"date":"2009-10-28T21:24:15","date_gmt":"2009-10-29T01:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ewm.com\/internalblog\/?p=13096"},"modified":"2009-10-28T21:24:15","modified_gmt":"2009-10-29T01:24:15","slug":"iphone-apps-for-real-estate-basic-iphone-features","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/?p=13096","title":{"rendered":"iPhone Apps for Real Estate &#8211; Basic iPhone Features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s an app for that&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0When it comes to real estate that is certainly true. \u00a0Following are some quick tips for real estate use for the real estate agent.<\/p>\n<p>We are going to start with a brief review of \u00a0the <strong>basic iphone features.<\/strong> Although this section may seem too basic for many users &#8211; sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. \u00a0So let&#8217;s start with the Home Screen<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_0396.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0396\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Most of the applications of the <strong>Home Screen<\/strong> can be found on all iPhones. \u00a0<em>Note<\/em>: I added the google app to my front page.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">All of the basic functions are found here. \u00a0 The calendar, mail and contacts can now not only \u00a0be synced with Apple \u00a0computer products, but can now be synced with Google mail and Microsoft Exchange Server.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_0397.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0397\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the home screen if you swipe from left to right this <strong>Spotlight<\/strong> search will appear. \u00a0Simply put, spotlight will find absolutely anything in your iPhone that meets the search criteria.<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_04051.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0405\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/div>\n<div>I think the <strong>Voice Recorder<\/strong> is of great value for real estate agents. \u00a0When you spend so much time in the car it is super easy to record a message and email it to yourself or someone else without risking life or limb.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Press the red button to start and stop. \u00a0Then tap the button on the bottom right hand corner.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_04061.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0406\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/div>\n<div>Your recording will appear and the share button will provide a pop up choice to send the message by email or text message. \u00a0Both choices are attached \u00a0to the contacts for easy reference.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Another great car tip for those 3GS iPhone owners is <strong>Voice Control<\/strong>. \u00a0Press the home button (that big round button on the bottom panel of the phone) until you see the Voice Control screen. \u00a0You can speak some useful commands like CALL 305-555-5555 or CALL Home (for anything that is in your contacts). \u00a0You can also control the iPod with commands like Play Favorite Playlist &#8211; where \u00a0Favorite is any defined playlist that is in the iPod portion of the phone.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_04131.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0413\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/div>\n<div>Haven&#8217;t figured out <strong>how to move those icons<\/strong> around? \u00a0Just press on any app icon until the &#8220;x&#8221; appears and the icons start \u00a0shaking in place. \u00a0You are now free to move them around on the screen and to a new or different screen. If you tap the X you will delete the app form the phone. \u00a0<em>Note:<\/em> The system icons will not move an cannot be deleted.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>MLS on the iPhone <\/strong>&#8211; Absolutely. First you will need to register as a mobile user. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sef.mlxwireless.com\/register\/\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to register.<\/a> Once you are registered just open up Safari on your iPhone and go to the site <a href=\"http:\/\/sef.mlxwireless.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/sef.mlxwireless.com\/<\/a>. \u00a0Enter your public and private ID and off you go.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You might want to add an icon to your front page so that you don&#8217;t have to type in the web address all the time &#8211; so here is how you <strong>make \u00a0an icon by web bookmarking.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/latestinrealestate.com\/files\/2009\/10\/IMG_0412.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG_0412\" width=\"214\" height=\"320\" \/><\/div>\n<div>Go to any web page \u00a0that you want to make an icon for. \u00a0 \u00a0One the site is rendered tap the + plus button and a pop up menu will appear. \u00a0Select Add to home screen and your icon is born.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The last &#8220;non app&#8221; feature I want to go over is the Maps for iphone. \u00a0The map widget is not quite as good as a navigational system, but it is pretty close. \u00a0For real estate agents I would suggest entering your listing addresses so that you can find them from wherever you are, whenever you want and it also allows you to email or text the directions to a client or cooperating agent for showings.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Apple has a great video that does a much better job than I can with step by step instructions. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/iphone\/iphone-3gs\/maps-compass.html#video\" target=\"_blank\"> Click here to watch the video.<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>While you are there check out the other great iphone videos listed on the left hand side bar.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Next post &#8211; my recommended apps.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s an app for that&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0When it comes to real estate that is certainly true. \u00a0Following are some quick tips for real estate use for the real estate agent.
