The question arises from this point of view : a family of four , spending an afternoon lets say watching Flipper and friends perform all those wonderful tricks, parking , entrance tickets, ice cream , water bottle (Miami is hot!!! ) , maybe a souvenir or two ( according to my daughter) and the cost can rise to over $100. Yes, the memories will be priceless but your pockets will be empty. OK I know we have the option of purchasing a yearly pass, but yet again a lot of people don’t have that kind of money. Carnival Center offers tickets for $10 ( for some events) but you will need to spend another $100 on a telescope because the seats you’ll get are so high up you just can’t see anything. Miami Children’s Museum offers a free Friday once a month but for the full time working parents its not an option. The most affordable attraction I’ll say it’s Miami Metro Zoo, It looks fantastic and offers bicycle rentals to ride around the park, has a petting zoo, and many more exhibitions.

What can we do ?? here is an idea: a lower entrance fee for Miami residents ( with proper I.D. of course ) or free entrance for children !!!. and everybody wins. These places will have much more income and residents will have more choices and much more fun.

I LOVE MIAMI!!! So hopefully one day (and I hope SOON) , more Miami residents will be able to enjoy more all the wonderful attractions this city has to offer.

Miami Seaquarium, Parrot Island ( former Parrot jungle), Miami Museum of Science, Metro Zoo, Carnival Center, the gorgeous beaches and parks …. yes, we Miami residents are so lucky to have all those wonderful attractions in out backyard , but are these attractions only catered for the tourists???
