{"id":21796,"date":"2013-03-13T15:25:10","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T19:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ewm.com\/internalblog\/?p=21796"},"modified":"2013-03-13T15:25:10","modified_gmt":"2013-03-13T19:25:10","slug":"can-you-recommend-a-roofer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/?p=21796","title":{"rendered":"Can You Recommend a Roofer?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have to replace the roof on my home prior to the start of the rainy season.\u00a0 I was hoping someone might have a <strong>good\u00a0roofer<\/strong> that they are familiar with and could<strong> recommend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Because my home has a<strong><em> historic designation<\/em><\/strong>, I am obliged to replace the roof with a like-kind, barrel tile and the one estimate I already received felt like<strong> highway robbery!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.ewm.com\/files\/2013\/03\/spanish-s-tile1.jpg\" alt=\"spanish s tile\" width=\"240\" height=\"160\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This style of <strong> &#8220;Spanish-S&#8221;<\/strong> roof tile is<strong> most common<\/strong> in South Florida but<strong> can not<\/strong> be used\u00a0for my new roof.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.ewm.com\/files\/2013\/03\/barrell-tile.jpg\" alt=\"barrell tile\" width=\"208\" height=\"160\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is the<strong> barrel tile<\/strong> that I am<strong> allowed to install<\/strong> on my roof.\u00a0 It\u00a0does <strong>not <\/strong>have to be <strong>&#8220;hand-made&#8221;<\/strong> like the roof I am replacing, however it does have to be installed using a valley tile topped by a crown tile.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.ewm.com\/files\/2013\/03\/arm-and-a-leg.jpg\" alt=\"arm and a leg\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I understand the cost is relative to the amount of tile and the  additional labor involved in the installation.\u00a0\u00a0 While I do want a roof  that will last for the rest of my lifetime (the last one did not last as  long as it should have, but that&#8217;s another story altogether),\u00a0 I don&#8217;t  want to have to spend the <strong>proverbial &#8220;Arm and a Leg&#8221;<\/strong> on my new roof!<\/p>\n<p>Any suggestions or recommendations that you could pass along will be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Please let me know by replying here on this blog post or you can give me a call, <strong>Rex Wilkinson, at 305-546-4051<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have to replace the roof on my home prior to the start of the rainy season.\u00a0 I was hoping someone might have a good\u00a0roofer that they are familiar with and could recommend.
