{"id":26855,"date":"2014-04-29T15:03:55","date_gmt":"2014-04-29T19:03:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ewm.com\/internalblog\/?p=26855"},"modified":"2014-04-29T15:03:55","modified_gmt":"2014-04-29T19:03:55","slug":"why-do-i-have-to-upload-my-photos-to-my-listing-manger-on-ewmrealtors-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/?p=26855","title":{"rendered":"Why do I have to upload my photos to my listing manger on ewmrealtors.com?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li><em><strong>Why can\u2019t I just upload them to the MLS and forget about it? <\/strong><\/em> Once your photos are uploaded to the MLS two significant things happen.\u00a0 First, they are resized \u2013 made smaller for storage purposes \u2013 which makes them virtually unusable for anything else.\u00a0 Second, and maybe even more importantly, once you upload those photos to the MLS, they belong to the MLS.\u00a0 <em><strong>So, because we want high quality photos that we are free to distribute anywhere, we ask you to upload them twice- once to the MLS and once to ewmrealtors.com.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/files\/2008\/10\/myphoto.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9764 alignleft\" style=\"margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/files\/2008\/10\/myphoto.jpeg\" width=\"126\" height=\"105\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2.\u00a0 How many pictures should I upload?<\/em><\/strong> The answer is simple \u2013 as many good ones as you have.\u00a0 I would recommend at least 8 pictures and <em><strong>never less than 5<\/strong><\/em> if you want the pictures to be picked up on all of the other sites that ewmrealtors.com sends to.\u00a0 You can also upload more photos to ewmrealtors.com including high resolution.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Be sue to also include your branded virtual tour.\u00a0 The MLS requires the unbranded version.\u00a0 You can also add many more comments to your listing on ewmrealtors.com<\/p>\n<p>Here are two videos to help you out \u2013 at a minimum you need to make sure you have at least 5 photos on MLS and ewmrealtors.com. Layering is an important concept in internet marketing.\u00a0 The idea of adding some additional uploads will add to your SEO on every listing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29660034@N02\/\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/l.yimg.com\/g\/images\/flickr_logo_gamma.gif.v59899.14\" width=\"98\" height=\"26\" \/><\/a>is a photography site where you can upload photos.\u00a0 Many people use it just to share photos with friends and family \u2013 but like many of the new tools \u2013 there is a great business application for using Flickr \u2013 it indexes well with the search engines.\u00a0 Each picture can be tagged with\u00a0 search terms like the address, mls number, the neighborhood or the building.\u00a0 Another great benefit \u2013 it is online storage for your photos.\u00a0 Once you upload the picture \u2013 flickr will store them forever.\u00a0 Ever have someone ask you for one of your phots only to find it gets rejected by the size of the email?\u00a0 Flickr automatically resizes your photos into small, medium and large so that anyone can download them- just send a link.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29660034@N02\/\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rskC6c_5L1M\">Picasa <\/a>is the Google equivalent of Flickr \u2013 with an added bonus of a photo editor.\u00a0 Picasa will also create a movie slide show of your photos that can be uploaded in <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/13\/90-day-challenge-day-xx-tools-you-can-use-meet-you-tube\/\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a> \u2013 yet another layer.\u00a0 Not to mention that once you have the slide show you can put it on your website or embed it in a blog post, pretty cool, right?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Got a smart phone?\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/tools\/mobile\/\" target=\"_blank\">Flickr<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\">Picasa<\/a> both offer mobile phone apps. <img class=\"wp-smiley\" alt=\":)\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_smile.gif\" \/> Try the links for more info or to download.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why can\u2019t I just upload them to the MLS and forget about it?
