I decided to finally write my first blog today even though I still do not have a picture on our website and being a new agent to EWM and fairly new in the business I had no idea what topic to write about.<\/p>\n
Until today.<\/p>\n
I encountered an incident that made me realize two very important things. The first one being the fact that as a Realtor we have chosen a career not just a “job” it is a way of life and we are on 24\/7, we do not shut down at 5pm or have weekends that are just spent lounging around. We are working round the clock and everyone is a potential contact. The second is that we have the capability to change peoples lives and help them make one of the biggest decisions in their life, for themselves and their family and if we are “Real”tors we feel good about it and are justly compensated for the countless hours mentioned previously.<\/p>\n
I have learned a few things, many of them what NOT<\/strong> to do, as a “real”tor and in my limited experience, these are my chosen few.<\/p>\n 1. Do NOT<\/strong> let your phone ring and not answer. Who knows you may have a buyer, seller or an agent on the other line, and who needs those?<\/p>\n 2. Do NOT<\/strong> listen, just hear what your sellers need and your buyers want and maybe you can wing it.<\/p>\n 3. Do NOT<\/strong> show up late, or better yet do not show up at all!!! That is always a good one.<\/p>\n 4. Do NOT<\/strong> proof read any offers or paperwork you are working on. Just trust the other guy knows what they are doing.<\/p>\n 5. Do NOT<\/strong> scratch out, write in or just scribble all over a perfectly beautiful contract.
