My Dear EWM family,<\/p>\n
I am writing to you about my sister, Karen. This is not easy for me, but I know that if I don\u2019t reach out, I could miss an opportunity to help her.<\/p>\n
My sister, my only sibling is a kind, compassionate, wonderful person who strives every day to be the best she can be and I love her dearly. \u00a0We are only a year and nine days apart and we have always been close.<\/p>\n
Karen suffers from kidney failure and although she has controlled it over the last 10 years through a strict diet, that is no longer possible. She needs a kidney. I immediately volunteered and was devastated when I was informed I cannot be her donor. Many family members have also volunteered, but they are not compatible either due to their age or pre-existing physical conditions. l am now on a mission to find her a living kidney donor.<\/p>\n
Becoming a living donor is a straightforward process\u2026 First and most important, you can live a long healthy life with one kidney. The procedure is \u00a0relatively noninvasive and the recovery time is minimal.<\/p>\n
All<\/strong> medical expenses are covered by her insurance.
