{"id":54015,"date":"2018-07-06T21:27:53","date_gmt":"2018-07-06T21:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/?p=54015"},"modified":"2018-07-06T21:27:53","modified_gmt":"2018-07-06T21:27:53","slug":"architecture-focus-carlos-schoeppl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.myewm.com\/?p=54015","title":{"rendered":"ARCHITECTURE FOCUS: CARLOS SCHOEPPL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once upon a time the prevailing and most desirable architectural style of Miami Beach\u2019s single family residences had a Mediterranean Revival flair.\u00a0\u00a0 Those of us Realtors who had taken the time to learn our City\u2019s History knew the provenance of the architecture of our homes and the added value they offered.<\/p>\n<p>A home designed by a known, respected architect withstood the test of time and basked in the glory of its architecture.\u00a0 Our \u00a0ability to present the architectural features and history of a home enhances its allure and elevates its status.<\/p>\n<p>Every home has a story. When the house finally chooses its next buyer, that buyer will want to know everything about his chosen house.\u00a0\u00a0 Being able to tell them the story is as integral a part of a Realtor\u2019s\u00a0 job.<\/p>\n<h2>Carlos Schoeppl \u2013 Miami Beach Architecture Icon<\/h2>\n<p>One highly respected Miami Beach architect is Carlos B. \u00a0Schoeppl (1898-1990). Our hearts skip a beat when we find a\u00a0 house was designed by Schoeppl.\u00a0\u00a0 He is responsible for designing some of the City\u2019s most beautiful homes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Born in Texas,\u00a0 he studied architecture at UCLA.\u00a0 The story goes that he had a grand outgoing personality (almost a pre-requisite for a Miami Beach resident!).\u00a0 He \u00a0had an interest in aviation and was friends with Howard Hughes and Eddie Rickenbacker.\u00a0\u00a0 Before coming to Miami Beach in 1933 he lived and worked in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p>Schoeppl \u00a0was chosen by my many wealthy clients to design their luxurious Mediterranean Revival Style homes built along Florida\u2019s \u201cGold Coast.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Schoeppl had a long career and by 1955 he had established\u00a0 Schoeppl and Associates with offices in Miami, New York,\u00a0 Dallas and Los Angeles.
