Star Tech – Week 3 Community Info

So, I had this really wonderful post all done for this week. I knew I was going to be out of town, so I wrote ahead of time and “post dated” my article. I opened it this morning, added a couple of things and thought I was done…. and somehow it is now lost in cyberspace! It was really good, so this is a second attempt.

Many thanks to fellow Miami Blogger Lucas Lechuga for judging the Week 2 Market Stats contest. The polls are up- so get busy voting. In case you missed Lucas’ reviews – go here.

Week 2 brought a lot of good content to our site. I thank each of you who contributed. The Tomato also installed some great site tracking tools. It amazes me to watch the blog grow everyday. You may have noticed that under the neighborhood bar on the main page of the public blog are a few colorful little boxes. One of those boxes will tell you that we are already the number 43 real estate blog in the country. It is my goal to get that up to the top 10 within the term of the contest – so keep posting.

Also worth mentioning in the stats department, is that we are already reaching viewers in China and Norway! Stateside, we are reaching California, Seattle, Maryland, Ohio and many other states. The stats also show me how people are finding us. The EWM blog is already ranking higher in google than Active Rain posts in similar areas. The search engines are ranking our stuff quite high and we haven’t even really gotten the word out there yet. And google loves the spanish posts – so all of you bloggers en espanol – the world awaits you!

As we move into week 3 – the fun begins. Listings and Market stats are a good backbone of information for our site and they will always be important – but it is a bit tedious to do them. So this week, let’s start to write a little bit more. Community information can be anything from a restaurant review to an article about having fun at a local park. Think of all the things that you would tell a buyer who was in your car about living in your community, now write about it. Robert Bishopric has already posted about his favorite restaraunts… he is off to a good start. I learned that you can now have a pick up truck in Coral Gables by reading Carlos Ruiz’s post. If you are stumped at what to write about, just take some nice pictures and put together a photo show by using Jeff Turner’s Real Estate Shows.

The judge for week 3 will be Michael Miller, editor of the Community Newspapers. He is quite taken with our blog and we are exploring ways to team up in this new venture. So stay tuned for more good info from Michael.

Last, but not least, thanks to all of you who have supported this blog already. I know you are getting the results you are looking for and business is sure to follow. We already have some great success stories and some wonderful writers in our midst. This week, if I could impose upon you to do one more thing, I would ask you to pull up a chair while writing your next post and help somebody in your office do their first post. Show them how fun and easy this is… what good comments and feedback you are receiving. It takes everyone to make this blog a true success.

Thanks and BLOG ON!

We had our 2nd blog group meeting this morning, and someone new joined the group, asking for help. This weeks topic is a fun one.
