Kevin Tomlinson’s Blog Lesson: Common Mistakes Made by Real Estate Bloggers

Beth had asked me to write a post on finding your “blog voice.” Your “voice,” according to the book Realty Blogging ,”is absolutely critical to becoming an authentic leader” and in my opinion, having a well-read blog. But the funny thing is, I did not feel inspired to write about that subject today, even though it is one of the most critical aspects of blogging.

Today I happened upon an “old” post from one of my favorite blogs, Rain City Guide, from 2006. It is simple in its message and clearly conveys common mistakes made by real estate bloggers. In lessons to come, I will be referring to “old” posts from blogs to demonstrate how much information is readily available, everywhere. I’m finding that agents who actually take responsibility for learning instead of having to be spoon-fed information, will be the agents who rise above the rest.

Please read the post, and read the comments too. Don’t worry too much about “Mistake #4,” EWM has got you covered on that stuff.

I urge every one to take responsibility for their own education. It gets quite boring hearing everyone make excuses for not knowing this or that.

Watch for “Blog Voice” lesson later this week. Maybe I can convince Beth to let my own superstar blog coach ARDELL to do a guest post on “Voice,” considering she is the “Queen of Voice.”

No it is not “easy.” Nothing with this kind of promise is, but all the information is truly, literally at your fingertips. You just have to want to “get” the info.
