Anything for Bill

CLINTONBill Clinton…of course. This morning I stood in line for 3 hours in front of Books and Books to get his new book “Giving” signed. Thanks to my friends Hena, Beth Jeannie and Margaret who made the time go faster. It was worth every minute.

It was quite the experience to see all his fans. Margaret, one of his biggest fans had on a pink “Hillary for President” t-shirt and her Clinton button hat with pins on it that she has collected over the years dating back to 1992.

We were all very excited as we winded through the store towards the President. When we finally were able to get a glimpse of him, Jeannie shouted, “there he is”! In person President Clinton is an impressive man. He is much thinner and taller in real life. He is charming, engaging, friendly and handsome, even though I must say he looked a little tired.

He held my hand while we talked. He thanked Margaret for wearing his wife’s t-shirt. We commented on how we loved the idea of the book about “Giving”. The President recommended that we read the current Time Magazine article on Community Service.

I felt that he would have had liked to continue talking to us for another twenty minutes had the staff not pushed us along. He would be a great addition to any dinner party. He’s a very interesting man.

It seems you and your cohorts are hooked! Too bad you couldn’t get a picture with him.
