Blogging: the proof is in the google! or How it feels to be in the top 10

I was a virgin , blogger that is, until recently. And much as I enjoy writing about something that interests me, it was amazing to start getting a few comments in response. Somebody was actually reading my blog, and feeling motivated enough to write back. Wow, like a junky I started to comb my email for messages signaling another comment. Yes, I confess, I even counted how many comments other blogs were getting, who was winning the contest of the week, etc– I was ready for BA (Bloggers’ Anonymous).

So you can imagine how exhilarating it felt to be in the top 10 on Google: as a blogger, you feel as if you’ve achieved a level of fame and recognition, and it came so fast! It’s Sally Fields, on winning her academy award, gushing “you really like me”.

My blog on Josh’s Organic Market was #7 out of 22,200 but even more impressive (at least to me) was hitting page 2 out of 932,000: if you google Hollywood Boardwalk, there’s my blog, between 11-20.

Thanks, Maggie, for the encouragement. It’s wonderful to post a blog at 10:00 pm Friday and get your comment before 6:00 am the following morning.
    Really appreciate it.
