CHECK YOUR MAP…You May Have Moved and don’t know it!!!

It has come to our attention at the Las Olas Office (thank you Felix), that the MLX mapping feature is anything but accurate. Actually, in many cases it may not exist at all. For most of us that know where we’re going that’s not a problem…WRONG!
For the many thousands of agents who search by drawing a box around a neighborhood or section, if your listing is not mapped correctly, chances are they are not getting your “very available” listing to show. We have talked to Inter-Realty. They have no idea what is going on. I’ve called Bill Cole (RAGFL MLS Guru) but he is on vacation until next Monday so, until it is fixed, CHECK THE MAPPING OF EACH OF YOUR LISTINGS. In this market, we can’t afford not to be shown.

Bob, I know that has always been a problem here on the beach with our MLX. When an agent comes to me and says that they cannot find their listing on the MLX by map area, I know that the default map has mapped it wrong again….There seems to be a glitch in the system. It is always a good idea for agents to search their own listing on the MLX all ways once it has been listed to ensure that it can be found. If not, the MLX coordinator can manually correct it.

Bob, what a great post. I think we not only need to make sure our listings are mapped correctly, but also, when working with buyers NEVER search by using the map tool. It is incredible how inaccurate the results are. I always use the Area and Section or Subdivision.

I didn’t think to Blog about it, but yes MLS accuracy is a big problem.

I did blog on active rain once about pictures on the MLS and I found out that across the country agents are FINED for not uploading pictures within 24, 48 or 72 hrs of listing.

Anyway… I’ve given you enough to read. =)
