Recipe for Success

ChefWhile I’m not much of a chef, I’m great at collecting recipes. Always with the thought of one day spending “extra” time creating some amazing culinary delights that will wow my family and friends. It hasn’t happened yet and probably won’t so when a friend shared this “Recipe for Success” with me, I thought now here’s one even I can do.

You’ll note though that the icing on this cake is — what else? — common sense. If you’ve got some of that lying around, you’ll have no trouble whipping up this one. May your attempts create much joy and success! Bon Appetit!

4 cups of intelligence

1 1/2 cups of responsibility

2 cups of open-mindedness

1 quart of understanding

1 1/2 teaspoons of judgment

1 3/4 cups of sifted positive attitude

3 cups of ambition

2 cups of unbeaten patience

1 cup of tactfulness

4 cups of ability

Sift intelligence, ambition and understanding together first. Mix in cooperation, initiative and open-mindedness until dissolved. Gradually add ability, tactfulness and responsibility. Stir in positive attitude and judgment. Add patience and blend all ingredients well. Sprinkle liberally with cheerfulness and bake in oven of determination. Cool completely and spread with kindness and common sense.

Sherrie, A great blog to receive at the end of the day. I seem to be missing one cup of ‘unbeaten patience’. I have a great relationship with my neighbor…I am going to knock on her door and ask if she can loan me a cup. (It worked for my Mom 40 years ago as she was borrowing a cup of sugar.)

Thanks for the reminder of the ingredients we need.

Thanks Terry! I hope your neighbor has plenty on hand. Patience is the one we all seem to run out of.

Sounds like the right proportions to me ! I’m having fun trying to envision the finshed product and wondering when it should be served! Charming blog … a recipe we can all put to good use!

JoAnn – I think it would be great to share this at your next meeting! Perhaps it will generate one or two new ones…I find I can never have too many of these types of recipes.

Darko – The relo department is always willing to share it’s ingredients and pass along any interesting new spices we uncover. Variety after all is the spice of life and the right ingredients mixed together creates all sorts of new possibilites!
