Portability

I have been catching up on my reading since non of my few listings are moving. I read from the Miami Herald 12/01/2007 where Miami-Dade County has the lowest high school graduation rate in the state at 63.9% with a dropout rate of 5.8%. I then read from the Herald today that Florida has one of the worst graduation rates in the country. our state finished 14Th in the nation. We were the best of a bad bunch and achieved a C+. The article went on to say how little our state spends on education compared to other states. Even New York has a higher rating and spends more than Florida does. My first question: Where does all the money from property tax, the lottery, and now if we pass the proposed gambling bill on the ballot the millions of tax revenue from that WILL GO TO EDUCATION, go ? Is our school administration top heavy ? Is our school system corrupt ? Why are we not compensating educators at the rate of other states ? Are we spending too much in new school construction ?If the county and municipality employees join the educators and vote against the portability issue it will never get approved at a 60% majority. Let’s get out on January 29 and vote yes and take back our lives. Let’s support Representative Rubio on his initiatives. Lets stop our benign neglect and then lets initiate a massive investigation of the Florida school system and find out where ALL THE MONEY IS GOING.

    Bravo !!!!
I have to say that this is a weak-up call for all of us, who for some reason don’t always have the time to open the Miami Herald, or don’t take the time to read everything.
My goal is to encourage my friends and family to go vote, nothing ever changes if we don’t do our part as citizen, also like my father use to say “don’t make a fuss if you don’t vote!!!!”
Thank you for taking the time to inform us.
