Good Morning! First off, I would like to make an announcement about another wonderful site where you will find EWM listings… FrontDoor.com. Just in case you haven’t heard about Front Door, it’s the real estate website being offered by HGTV and is sure to be another big traffic generator for your listings, just like Trulia.
Speaking of Trulia, our listings there are already sending another 300 or so people a day to our web site! As a company, we are making great strides to selectively chose those listing sites that are most conducive to our business and it is working! As soon as all of our feeds are live, we will be working on a comprehensive list to include in your listing packages.
As traffic on your listings increase, you should start to receive inquiries directly to your email because we point these leads directly to the listing agent. Many brokers do not follow this practice or will generate a referral fee to do so. In short, make sure you mind your internet presence and be diligent about how you follow up with each inquiry.
I have been riveted as the one of guys over at 1000 Watt consulting has been chronicling his search for a home and blogging about it each day. He is a buyer who is looking to buy a $2.5 million house in California and made some initial inquiries over the web through one of these listing sites. He emails the listing agent for more information and an appointment… can you guess what happens? In our market, I have to say, this kind of thing keeps me up at night…. Follow the real estate internet reality show here…
Part One… I am lead
Part Two… I am still a lead
Part Three… I have been abandoned
I guess you can cheat by looking at the titles and figure out what has happened, but you should read it to gain insight into the importance of this topic. As a company or an agent, you can put your listings all over the internet, but it does nothing but harm if you don’t follow up on the leads. In a market where good buyers are so hard to come by it is almost inconceivable that this is happening, but I would bet that it happens more often than not. I just want to be certain that it is not happening at EWM! By now you should all know that there is money in your computer… a lot of it. Here is to hoping you find it!
