Neat Trick with MLX

I discovered quite by accident that MLXChange allows you to run multiple sessions in your browser. You have to be running Internet Explorer 7 in order to do this, as it takes advantage of the tab feature in the browser.

Here’s what to do:

Start an MLX session like you normally do. After you log in click on the New Tab (the little partial tab to the right of the active tabs).

You now have an empty tab to the right of your original MLX session.

In the address bar of the new tab, type sef.mlxchange.com, and press enter.

Viola! You’ve got a new session of mlxchange going. You can open several of these, if you like (I would not do more than 3-4), but having them open, you can search tax records in one, actives in another, closed sales in the third, and so on. Just click back and forth as you work.

    Bob great idea to tell people that didn’t know this. Since you need IE7 that asks a lot for the active-X and because of it sometimes crashes (especially if you r running Vista on the older machine) it is good idea to have MLX open in the separate window if you r running multiple browsing sessions. If you have MLX as trusted site you will have MLX open in the new window every time you open it from the favorites and after that every time you do the same MLX will open in the new tab saving the typing effort…How to do this: TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>SECURITY>TRUSTED SITES>SITES than add MLXchange as the trusted site…

    Good info Robert. You can use a “shortcut key” to do the same thing and not need to type the URL. This helps out with floor duty too.

    Load MLXchange to the home page, ready for an address search for the first floor call.

    Type the letter “N” while holding the control key down. This opens another MLXchange window with you already logged on as the user. You’ll notice both windows are open next to the “Start” button on the bottom of the page. Now you can do your research and not have to close it when a call comes in by selecting the window you need to use.

    If you need a separate third page, just type “N” with the control key held down and your good to go. It’s a new browser window each time, so you can change the URL and load any Internet page you need.

    Just remember to toggle back to the MLXchange address search page now and then so you’re ready for the floor call – otherwise MLXchange may log you out.
