I was most surprised to discover that listing agreements are not available in translation. Given the demographics of our community, I expected to find them in other languages, and in Spanish, at the very least. The FAR contract for sale and purchase is out there, but not the listing contract.

If someone knows of a Spanish version, I would be most grateful.

I believe if you go to http://www.floridarealtors.org you can find the contracts in Spanish also. I have not looked recently, but I remeber seeing them on that website. However, you may want to check with your manager to make sure company policy will permit their use…

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, the site you mentioned has only the sales contract, not the listing agreement.

As you correctly pointed out, the Listing Contract must be in English for signing purposes. I just wanted a Spanish translation for the benefit of the client, at least for their convenience in obtaining information. I thought a translation should exist.

Hi Ellen,
You could always have it translated, if it is only for his information I could do the translation for you. I have had other ppl give me their contracts to translate. I am a legal translator English/Spanish.

It’s nice to know there are such great resources, right here in our Aventura office. Actually, I already knew that you were a multi-talented realtor.

But would we be re-inventing the wheel? Surely, someone besides me would have liked a Spanish version, here in South Florida and especially in Aventura.

Morris, did I detect a note of sarcasm?

I was hoping to offer a translation of our listing agreement, not for contractual purposes, but simply to help foreign clients understand what I asked them to sign, without their having to rely on faith or engaging a translator.

Our S. Florida market is an international one (as Ron has often pointed out)and I’m happy to provide my services in English, French & German, languages I do speak. I just wish I could speak Spanish as well.
