90 Day Challenge – Day 7 – Tools You Can Use – Ron is On YouTube

I bet that is one thing you never thought you would see.  Well that day has come.  See Ron’s YouTube debut here.

Seems like this is a great time to meet YouTube.

The Wikipedia definition:

YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube was created in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees. The San Bruno-based service uses Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos. In October 2006, Google Inc. announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the company for $1.65 billion in Google stock. The deal closed on November 13, 2006.

Are you not getting the whole YouTube thing?  Let’s look at why YouTube is such a phenomena.

  1. It’s all user generated.  Anyone, anytime and everyone all of the time. Browse, use, upload, distribute – it’s all there for you to use.
  2. Embeddable.  Upload it to YouTube and you can put that video anywhere you want.  In a blog, on your site, in Facebook, in an email.  Look ma, no links!  No more putting a link on our site to that virtual tour so that your viewer leaves your site.
  3. Why reinvent the wheel? Many times a video will save you from having to write a wall of words –  search for a video that says what you are looking to say. Ron’s video is a great thing to forward to all of you customers.
  4. Any YouTube video indexes well with the search engines.  Getting your message out there on YouTube is just one more way to promote your listings, yourself and your message.

Ready to get started? Here are some Tips to get you up and going in no time!

  • Sign Up for a You Tube Account. – Go to YouTube.com – Click on the sign up button in the upper right hand corner.  Follow the simple steps – this will take you less than 5 minutes.
  • Upload the your videos.  Watch the simple instructional video.

Some additional references:

We will spend a lot of time during the Challenge learning about video and embedding, so don’t fret if you have nothing to upload right now.

Your homework – go set up a You Tube Account – maybe one for personal stuff and one for business.  Browse around – look at some of the other real estate videos – make note of the ones you like.  Send an email out with Ron’s market update and a message from you.  What an easy way to get the word out.

Congrats!  Another new skill learned.  For more skills – read up on the 90 Day Challenge.

When I was watching Ron’s YouTube debut, my eyes couldn’t help but wander over to the left-hand side, which had a lot of listings for Ron Peterson. I clicked on his links, saw a couple of videos (wasn’t impressed with quality of them), Googled Ron Peterson Miami surfed around some of his links, and then remembered to go back to watch Ron. No wonder the ADD rate is rapidly on the rise.
Ron, you are a real estate superstar!
