90 Day Challenge- Day 24 -Tools You Can Use – Exporting MLX Grid to Excel; Add Logo and Print

MLXchange has a tremendous amount of listing and tax roll data. Instead of retyping this information by hand into a spreadsheet, the information can be placed in a grid — that you custom create — and exported to Excel. Although MLXchange offers extensive report formats, the export feature offers you more flexibility.  Although there seem to be several steps to successfully complete this process, once you understand the logic, you will be able to follow the screen prompts and set aside your notes and instructional videos.

Once you have performed your search, the results will be a grid. Whether your results grid is listing data or client data from the tax records, this information can be exported to Excel for further manipulation.

The following “not-too-short” video demonstrations show you how to:

  • Obtain the data from a simple search
  • Use the map feature instead of the area numbers field
  • Create a custom results grid
  • Export the data to Excel
  • Format the Excel spreadsheet
  • Add logos, word art, photos and personal text
  • Print the oversized spreadsheet.

In a subsequent post, we will export data from the tax records, import to Excel and merge with a Word document.

Karen, after I select the format for my report and click “save” it does not take me to the “Save as” screen, instead it start saving the document automatically without allowing me to select where to save the document. How can I fix this?
