NAR Reports Prove Helpful In Both Listing Appointment And Seller Satisfaction; Numbers Will Crush Your Competition

I have been advised by several agents lately that the NAR Profile reports have been helpful in either obtaining a listing or satisfying a grumpy seller.  In both instances, these two Sellers wanted to know what percentage of international buyers were purchasing in Florida. Pursuant to the 2009 NAR Profile of International Home Buying Activity (link provided below), Florida ranks first in international home buyers:

florida ranks first

The majority of international clients are from basically five countries; however, the top two made their purchases in Florida:

  1. Canada (35.4% of the purchases were in Florida)
  2. United Kingdom (46.8% of the purchases were in Florida)
  3. Mexico (puchased properties in California and Texas)
  4. India (purchased properties in California and Texas)
  5. China (purchased properties in California and Texas)

top five countries

The numbers work FOR you. If the United Kingdom ranked No. 2 in international buyers to the United States and 46.8% of those buyers bought in Florida, you can easily substantiate our affliation with Mayfair International Realty and why we concentrate on advertising and promotion of  the Seller’s property in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe.

Crush Your Competition: All EWM listings over $250K are fed to Mayfair’s international website: www.mayfairinternationalrealty.com and www.telegraph.co.uk. All EWM listings over $1M are fed to www.countrylife.com (the Queen’s Magazine online!) Mayfair International Realty brokers more listings than Sotheby’s  “…Sotheby’s is largely UNKNOWN in the UK as real estate specialist although they, of course, have an excellent reputation as fine art auctioneers” (as per Caroline Carrara, Manager of Las Olas and our resident expert on all things British). Therefore, you can deduce that you have an instant advantage over any competition – especially Sotheby’s. Remember the chart from Leading RE (to be updated to 2009 stats shortly):

Remember, Mayfair will write a letter on your behalf to assist your getting that listing! (See your manager.)

It seems like a good idea to have some of these reports (links below) with you when you arrive at your listing appointment as well as have it handy for that Seller desiring the information. If you do not have this information with you at the time,  you now have the stats in your head after reading this post.  You can either e-mail the reports to back up what you are saying or bring the reports back to them in person for their review.

The following reports from NAR are as follows:

The 2009 NAR Profile of International Home Buying Activity

Miami Area (Region): Local market Report, Fourth Quarter 2009

Business Data for Engaging in International Real Estate Transactions in Florida, January 2010

I know we are inundated with reports and charts; however, I hope these will prove helpful to you.
