The link below is a great article on setting up a virtual server to run MLX on your Iphone, Ipad, etc. Thank you to Victor Mills at our Pinecrest Office for forwarding this to me.
How to set it up:
- Get the laptop and setup a fresh windows install if you can. If not, what you have on it will work.
- Erase everything you don’t need, and turn off all the graphics, screensavers, services, etc. that you don’t need.
- Make the computer boot on at a certain time each day in the setup options. (I put 8:00 A.M.)
- Make the computer turn off at a certain time of day.
- Install VNC server and set it up to run on start up.
- Put your Internet Explorer in the “Start up” section of the Start menu.
- Install the no-ip client on the laptop.
- Setup your router to port forward port 5900 to the laptop.
- Download the VNC app to the iphone or ipad.
- Download the JollyFastVNC client for the imac.
