Hello everyone???

I decided to write this blog just for and hopefully get a lot of feedback ( don’t be shy !!!) , about your favorite places for ice cream , pizza, Italian or Chinese food, you name it. So next time you are driving around with a customer you will have lots of suggestions and who knows maybe you can put it together for a marketing campaign…..

Let’s get started :

Best place for ice cream is : Whip n Dip Ice Cream ( 1407 Sunset Dr, in South Miami ) . Mom and Pop ice cream shop, serves the best in-house made ice cream. They have new flavors all the time , a once a week stop is a must !!!!!!

mmmm, For me it is a toss up between the Frieze on Lincoln Road (Green Tea icecream) or a full blown sundae at Dairy Queen on Biscayne and 138th or so…

The best Italian is Marola’s Trattoria in Cooper City. It is located off of Stirling & Flamingo (next to Stein Mart). The food is consistently great! The staff is friendly & attentive. It has about a dozen tables at max & its a quaint neighborhood place with nice decor. This is a great place for business lunches or family dinners. The lunch crowd is usually business professionals and locals. The menu is extensive & the specials are great. I recommend the Chicken Napolitano.

Whip N Dip has the VERY best hot fudge sauce around !
I’d pay oodles and tons for that recipe !
On a summer evening, there’s a line all the way out the front door, and neighbors gather in front to socialize. If they had awnings… and a few tables and chairs, it would likely become THE neighborhood hotspot(from which I, for one, would be hard-pressed to leave.

Another great little neighborhood ice-cream place is WALLS ICE CREAM … across from the Big Cheese… just off US1 where South Dixie Hwy intersects with Ludlam. Walls serves FREE miniature ice cream cones to little children. Some evenings they have LIVE music (… sometimes… it’s ‘jazz’!)

The Best Bar-B-Q in the whole State of Florida [I’ve been to many of them from the farthest south: Redland Rib House in The Redland, to Jim & Milt’s in Tallahassee] is in Fort Lauderdale (believe it or not): Tom Jenkins Barbeque (take 95 north, get off on Davie Blvd east, turn right when you get to the corner of Davie Blvd and US-1 (aka South Federal Highway) and you’ll see (and smell) the smoke (except on Sunday and Monday, the sign reads Sunday gone to church, Monday gone fishign) SO worth the drive!! http://www.tomjenkinsbbq.com/ They have chicken, ribs, pork spare ribs and baby back, and chopped pork and brisket, (or combinations of those items) as well fried catfish. The meat is all cooked to smoky juicy perfection, never dry. The sauce is red and not too sweet, a little smoky and a little spicy (and it comes ‘on the side’). Macaroni and cheese is perfect! Collard greens so flavorful and never bitter, excellent cole slaw, baked beans with a hint of ?green pepper, fries, potato salad, what more could you want . . a killer corn muffin! To wash it all down, SWEET tea, really sweet. Aaaaah! And as if that wasn’t enough, a sweet potato pie that would make your Momma cry (with a hint of orange flavor), not dense and pasty like some supermarket pies can be, but a light and clean taste that leaves no room for guilt, and to balance it, the perfect crust! I break off pieces of crust edge so I get some in each bite. And low prices to boot! D–n I love good Barbeque.
