This is a new app for the Android users out there. If you have an Android, I’m sure you are well aware that there was no way to locate your phone if you lost it. Well, just a few weeks ago, Google rolled out the Android Device Manager, a free service that is the Android equivalent of Find My iPhone. That’s right, if you were worried about losing your Android phone, or leaving it behind in some random public store or restaurant, you needn’t worry any longer. If your phone is misplaced or even stolen, the Android Device Manager lets you track it.Did your phone fall between the cushions of your couch? Use the Android Device Manager to make it ring, even if you left the phone on silent. Did you leave your phone behind somewhere? Use the Android Device Manager to locate your phone so you can go get it. Are you worried someone may have stolen it? Lock it or remotely erase it so none of your information can be stolen. To do this, all you need is a computer with internet access.
To make it work, you go to the Android Device Manager website, log into your Google account, follow the instructions to sync your phone up, and then you never have to worry about losing your phone again! The setup is straightforward and very easy so don’t be scared. You can expect Google to expand the service’s capabilities in the near future. For example, Apple’s Find My iPhone lets you send text messages and search for your phone from other iPhones. The Android counterpart doesn’t let you do this yet, but they’re working on getting this service to you soon. Click here to get set up and have complete control of your phone––even if its lost!
