Recruiting/Prospecting At My PTA Meeting

You can prospect anywhere and anytime . . ..

I attended my first PTA meeting this morning at my son’s school. I have been elected President of the PTA for the school year 2007-2008. This is Jonathan’s 2nd year at this school and he absolutely loves it. The Key Biscayne Community Church Day School is the oldest school here on the Key. It is located right across from the Village Green. The parking lot at the school is famous for the only Pumpkin and Christmas Tree sales here on the Key.

I immediately looked around the room and sat next to a familiar face, Ms. Diane, the school principal. Some of the teachers attended and other parents as well. I recognized only one parent from Jonathan’s class from last year. I talked about upcoming events such as the Pumpkin Patch Sale and the Halloween Fest, which are coming up in October. I spoke to the parents and set up follow-up meetings to promote our events. The meeting went well, but I think that I’m most proud of the fact that I gave out 10 of my business cards to mothers I didn’t know before . . . this is a great way to start the school year, and hopefully I’ll end the year with a sale at our Key Biscayne office!

Beth Butler was in our office this morning and she told basically the same story from her PTA days. It is almost as if she wrote it for you!

Hey Vivian. Where’s a picture of your cutie pie Jonathan? I feel cheated!! When you get ready to do a blog on the Pumpkin or Christmas Tree Sales, let me know and I will help you with photos if you need help.
