Trepidatious, Uneducated, Too Much Business or Simply Lazy?

Dear Non-Bloggers in the Coral Gables Office,

Which category do you fit into? With few exceptions, it isn’t that you’re too busy to blog: VERY few of us can claim we have so much business that we don’t have the time to try something new. Fearful? Who cares if you do it well at first? Practice makes perfect. Don’t know how to blog or what to write about? There are fantastic posts to our site that are LOADED with tips (look under the category Training Tips and Tricks.)

Hate to say it, but you are either resistant to change (for any of the aforementioned reasons) or you’re lazy. Hope I’m not offending anyone. I’m simply befuddled.

Let me give you the names of some of EWM’s top bloggers. Nelson Gonzalez, Scott Patterson, Kevin Tomlinson, Christopher Zoller and Dee Quintero. If you don’t know their names, you should. They are successful EWM agents – to say the least. Do you know what else they are? Bloggers with success stories!

Blog about your neighborhood. Blog about your favorite restaurant. Blog your listings – please! Honestly now, what do you have to lose?

    Great blog. It wil be intersting to see if it gave some of them the push they needed. However, you are not alone.

    It’s fear Patty and it takes some time to figure out how to write and deliver a post and then to finally hit the “publish” key is overwhelming. I encourage everything to just try it – only one or two sentences will do it. How about a “first time blogger” group??? Maybe that would help.

    Thanks for your responses Debra, Cristina, JoAnn, Caroline and Monica. I was not trying to lecture, but to help our associates recognize that it’s o.k. to make a mistake, or to worry that it won’t be perfect; and to point out that it’s a worthwhile endeavor. In this market, we should all be willing to try something new. We can’t afford not to. Unfortunately, the folks I’m trying to reach will probably never read this. (Monica – great suggestion. I had hoped that Beth’s meeting with us last week would be just that: a motivation for those who had never blogged. We’ll keep at it.)
