Monday Musings….
Just like anything, you get out what you put in…Real Estate is no exception. If you want to be successful, you have to put in the work. Like starting any new business (think brick and mortar), normally one busts themselves working 70 hours a week to get the restaurant open and then once it’s open another 70 until it’s truly a success and then maybe with good staff, they back down a try and resume a 40 work week. I have never met a successful $$$ realtor that didn’t at least work like a dog to get their business off the ground and most who continue to be successful, continue to work hard.
I don’t know where the notion comes from…actually I do, TV reality shows, that Real Estate is a piece of cake, easy and you can work a few hours a week and make a six figure income, drink champagne and sit on a yacht…NOT…. Those associates that are lucky to be doing that, either put in their hard work and time and earned that, or they are blessed with great connections.
Of course we all wish we were blessed with great connections, but realistically, that is not the case. We have to go out, contact our sphere, network, find customers (who are strangers) and SELL…
Yes, SELL, shocking I know but as Realtors we sell homes and dreams and ourselves….And that brings us to the concept of Branding and Marketing, but I will muse about that another time…
Being a Realtor and selling Real Estate is a lifestyle, it should be something that you do with passion, it should be something that makes you jump out of bed in the morning, it should be a profession that you are proud of. If you are not, then you need to look inside and figure out why not? Life is short…remember that….
