Why don’t you shut up, is a direct translation of what King Juan Carlos said to President Chavez during the Ibero-American Summitt in Santiago, Chile. It was said in a way a father scolds a son but obviously without the affection. What was so great about the outburst was the fact the King of Spain spoke his mind. He didn’t play the political card, he was just being himself. Which is what I think we should be doing more instead of being phony and playing the political correctness hand when many times it is not the best thing to do. In the last few days of being on the phone talking to expireds I have encountered all sorts of folks. One thing they have in common is they’re pretty desperate to sell. What is most striking is that the majority only want to hear what they want to hear, and not the reality or what I believe they have to hear. The truth. Political and business correctness tells me it’s much easier to agree with them. And maybe even get a crack at their business. At the end of the day this is short sighted and won’t make the distance. Real Estate customers and investors in my opinion are looking for the truth. The truth well told as someone use to say in an outfit I worked for awhile ago. My point is you give it your best shot, give everything you believe is right. Never give in to the easy temptation of just saying or showing what probably seems to be the easy way out. At the end you’ll lose to who is dealing with what is real.
So for goodness sake, shut up and listen for a change.
