Google Phone

I was pretty excited when Beth came to the office meeting this morning and showed us a video about the internet in the future and how our present is being transformed. I ‘d been thinking about changing phones, my Samsung looking pretty antiquated, and wondering what smart phone I should get.

I thought the competition was between the Iphone and the Blackberry, but now what about the Google phone? I found this youtube demo on the google site, but it didn’t show very much.  At least it gave me the opportunity to ”embed while blogging”, something I really wanted to try.  Any body have an opinion they’d like to share?

Ellen, I have been using a Blackberry for three years and I enjoy it. It doesn’t have all the features you will find on an Iphone but it sure does the job for me.

I never intended to receive or send anything but emails and text messages on my phone; I prefer to use the my laptop for surfing the web (easier for me). I think the camera feature is great for emergencies.

I use the Blackberry Pearl but some people like the curve because it’s larger and has single letters on the keys. I’m a pretty good typist so having double letters on my keys doesn’t bother me.

If you really want to access the web on the Blackberry you can pay an additional fee to do so.

    Good luck.

I had a Blackberry and “loved” it BUT my tech minded husband talked me into getting an IPHONE. I hated it the first couple of days (can’t teach an old dog a new trick!) “BUT” now I can’t imagine life without it. The IPHONE is a small laptop that answers your phone and the features, wow! You will ask yourself why you waited so long to get one, I promise!!

Thanx, Dee and Patti. Wouldn’t you know it, 2 opinions and it’s 50/50 for the Blackberry and the Iphone. I’ve heard about the learning curve for each one, and that’s why I’ve hesitated. They each have their devoted followings, some of my friends even have both, but now the new google phone may be the answer. It’s supposed to be out next month, so maybe I’ll wait a bit longer.
Really appreciate your help, so I’ll keep you posted on my cell future. Can’t wait to blog on my next phone!
