I had the privilege of being a part of an MLX webinar on the changes in 5.0; some of the changes have already taken place in the system. I would encourage you to spend one hour to participate in one of the scheduled webinars hosted by First American. In the “Message of the Day” screen, you can click on the RED LINK to participate. If you cannot attend, below I have outlined the enhancements for you. The changes/enhancements are:
Search —
The map search allows up to 3 separate map search areas in a single search (even though I performed 4 below). This comes in handy these days when you cannot find enough sales in a particular neighborhood and need to use a secondary or tertiary area which may be very similar to your subject neighborhood. If you are a fan of the POLYGON shape tool, you now have the ability to include up to twenty-five points in one polygon.
In the filters/drop lists on search, you now have a “NOT CONTAINING” search operator.
Open House Dates can be included in residential searches and reports. (not enabled yet; but coming soon).
Report Features —
There are also some report enhancement features for those who are proficient in Designer Tool. These include: The ability to edit multi-record reports such as multi-row, multi-column and label report types; including image name and comments; ability to insert maps; and new photo report type.
Home-Page Inventory Watch —
Other enhancements include a Home-Page inventory watch which now includes listings where the agent is a co-listing agent not just the primary agent; a drop box to distinguish your listings from the office listings.
If you are the co-agent, the system will perform a search after you click on the category and include your listing in the results grid, not in the actual number on the inventory watch box.
Sort for Client Pick-List —
The client pick-list now allows you to sort by first or last name. The button in the upper right-hand corner next to the client icon is a toggle wherein you can sort the client’s name by first/last / last/first.
Enhancements in the near future will be as follows:
— Notifying listing agent(s) and Broker 14, 7 and 1 days before the listing expiration date.
— Notifying listing and selling agents 1 day before the Closing date.
